Paul Norwood, CGO

Paul Norwood is the Chief Growth Officer at BTS, where he leads efforts to help the company grow and expand its impact. He focuses on building relationships, finding new opportunities, and making sure BTS’s services meet the changing needs of its customers, especially in technology and national security. Paul drives growth by ensuring the company stays responsive to the evolving challenges of its clients, while exploring both new opportunities and strategic partnerships.

A seasoned strategist with more than 28 years of military service, Paul was a senior intelligence officer in the United States Army, where he held leadership roles in the Middle East, South Asia, Europe, and the U.S. His assignments included combat during Desert Storm, peace enforcement operations in the Balkans, and the war in Afghanistan. As the Secretary of the Army’s Chief Strategist, Paul led efforts to align strategic priorities with future force capabilities and force structure. He also provided critical support to the Army Chief of Staff during his tenure, contributing to transformation initiatives across the Army.

As a leader in innovation, Paul conceived, established, and led Deloitte’s Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence Exploration Laboratory, driving advancements at the intersection of national security and emerging technologies. While at Deloitte, he also spearheaded strategy and analytics programs serving public sector clients, particularly within national security organizations.

Paul most recently served as a Director with Lazard Geopolitical Advisory, establishing their Austin office, and providing market-relevant geopolitical and business analysis to the investment bank and its global multinational clients. His thought leadership on forecasting future strategic environments has been featured in WarOnTheRocks, Parameters, and Joint Forces Quarterly.

Paul’s academic credentials include a Master of Strategic Studies (Distinguished Graduate) from the United States Army War College, a Master of Arts with honors in Computer Resources and Information Management from Webster University, and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Sam Houston State University.
